my favorite time of day

well its not actually day at all. i love, love ,love, late night, when drew and niya are both asleep and i have my time all to myself. its so quiet and peaceful. i can blog, or craft, or sew, or just watch hours upon hours of tv. at 1 or 2 or sometimes 3 i force myself to go to bed and fall asleep thinking about what im gonna do tomorrow night.

so many blessings

we finally blessed niya on feb 7th. it was such a beautiful, and special day. she looked so pretty in her blessing dress. it was extra special because it was the same dress sunny, and i wore for our blessings. also lilly and nadia wore it too, and now little niya. being that its 34 years old it has a little yellowish tint to it, and i had to re attach the lace in a few places, its paper thin, and has a couple stains on the back, but all those little inperfections make it that much more beautiful.

drew gave such a sweet blessing. he said all the things you hope for your child to be blessed with. i was told that during the whole blessing she just stared up at drews face with those big blue eyes, and didn't make a peep

after church we had friends and family over for a little lunch. i was so happy to have so many people that we love so much be there to help us celebrate. i felt really lucky that day to know so many people care about us. some how she knew it was a special day because she was a little angel

niya has four living grandpas, and they were all there. i never knew even one grandpa. she's a lucky little thing

of course my mom and dad came. it was really fun to have them. they stayed for a few days and hung out with me and niya while drew traveled for work. i wish they lived closer so niya could see her gunna and papa more

it was such a special and spiritual day for us. im so thankful for my beautiful baby girl. she brings me such joy like i never thought possible

utah baby

it breaks my little californian heart, it truly does. my baby is a utah baby. it will be burrrrrrr @#$ cold outside and i'll say to drew "hurry lets get the baby inside," his favorite reply is, "don't worry, she's not cold, she's a utah baby." and a little tear runs down my cheek

so big!

over the last couple of weeks niya has become a little bumbo champ. i love it when she sits in it. she looks so big, and so freakin cute. she kind of has a little grouch face in this pic but really she loves it. she doesn't really want to be cradled anymore she wants to spend most of her time sitting up and looking around. shes such an alert and observant little thing. she's always examining every little detail with those big eyes.

last week i started trying to get her more on a nap schedule. she's got sleeping through the night down pat, so on to new things. i've started to just swaddle her, and put her in her bed. sometimes she just lays there wide eyed looking around, sometimes she cries a little, but most the time she just goes to sleep. what a good baby :)
