baby behave!

so last monday and tuesday nights i spent in the hospital. I started having stomach pain at about 5pm and by 11pm i had called the on call ob and she said to go to labor and delivery. I reluctantly went in feeling kinda dumb actually. the nurses hooked me up to a couple monitors and saw that i was in fact having contractions every 2 minutes. i pretty much freaked out. they started out making me drink tons of water then gave me a shot of tributaline (t0 stop contractions). They then tested my pee. It was fine no infections. They checked my cervix. It was fine still closed. They checked for fetal cells. No trace. After two more shots to stop the contractions and all the test coming back good. They sent us home at about 5:30am. They told me to take it easy and drink lots of water. The next night i was still having pain so we did the previous night all over again. So now its been a week and the major pain is gone but im still having contractions a little and i just feel like mild period crampy all the time. Everyone keeps saying unless the pain gets worse or the contractions are more than 6 in an hour im fine. So baby behave!! I really don't want you to come yet!

turkey dinner in august?

on sunday drew and i made our very first turkey. since security national loves to give turkeys during the holidays and we had never attempted to cook one those little buggers were building up in our freezer. so when times are tight you gotta use what you've got. needless to say we learned how to cook a turkey. drew cleaned out the nasty insides (rhett) and we both helped butter, and season its cold nasty carcass. 5 hours later....yum! it turned out really good actually. we had the quists and the grandparents over for turkey dinner in august!

lone peak makes me freak

saturday morning Drew, his brother Adam ,and Dad Scott woke up bright and early to hike lone peak. Drews been wanting to do this for a long time so he was super excited. It was going to be a 12 hour minimum hike and they decided to do it all in one day. So 6:30am he was out the door to meet dad and bro at the trail head. As soon as he left my crazy mind started to go wild. My life as a single mother flashed before my eyes and i just kept creating scenario after scenario of my husband falling to his death, or getting struck by lightning, or running out of water etc etc.... I decided "oh maybe i should read reviews online of other peeps that hiked lone peak and then i can feel better." yeah right. I started reading reviews and key words stuck out like sheer rock cliffs, dried up stream beds with no water, poorly marked trails, getting lost, scrambling up slick rock and on and on. Needless to say i did NOT feel better. I thought for sure he wouldn't make it out alive. Why do i do this to myself?!!! It took me a good hour and a half to calm myself down and realize that everything would be fine, and he was going to have the time of his life. Turns out he did have the time of his life. Amanda and I picked them up at the trail head at 7:30pm. They made it up and back in 12 and a half hours. Drew came back dirty, and disgustingly sweaty, with leg muscles so tired he could hardly hold him self up but with the biggest grin on his face i've ever seen. He absolutely loved it. Im so glad he made it to the top of Lone Peak. Good job babe!! Im proud
