did you get your swine flu vaccine?

WE DID!

saturday morning drew and i woke up at 5:30am to make it down to the sandy health department by 6, one hour before they started giving out the h1n1 vaccination shot at 7. when we arrived i couldn't believe my eyes! it was ridiculous. the line was already at least 1000 people long. luckily my smart husband rememered to bring me a chair and a coat. don't ask me why i didn't think to bring one for myself, after all it is the end of october in utah at 6am. so the waiting game began. over the next hour the line continued to grow and by 8am no joke there was AT LEAST 5000 people in line. Are you kidding me!!!!! around 8 some "official" came out and basically started telling people around us and behind us to go home cause we weren't gonna get it. since the whole process so far had been so unorganized drew and i were skeptical. as people left we just moved up in the line and decided to take our chances. i didn't get up at 530 for nothin!! we continued to wait as different health officials walked up and down the line trying to deter us saying things like "youre takin a chance waiting you might not get one." finally a couple of worker ladies came walking down actually counting. she came back to tell us that we would in fact most likely be getting one. yay! the waiting was not gonna be in vain. so at 10am after a long morning of standing in line we lifted our sleeves and got shot!

happy halloween!

we went to our first halloween party of the year! a couple in our ward threw this really extravagant party. I've never seen a house so decked out. it was pretty cool. there were lots of clever costumes, good food and yummy desserts. i love halloween. we ended up being ketchup and mustard cause drew already had the mustard costume and i found the ketchup at a costume store. my choices are limited being as im as big as a house. so it worked out good. the guy at the counter that checked me out asked "so did you try this on to see if it fits" as he looks down at my belly. I reply "nope" and handed him my card.

fall

one of my very favorite things about fall is all the yummy fall food. im so in love with squash and sweet potatoes! drew and i went to the final farmers market in salt lake and stocked up for winter. yum yum. the funny thing is i didn't discover these gems really until i moved to utah. what do we not have squash in california????

park city fun

last weekend drew and i went to park city and stayed at the dakota waldorf estoria in park city. we got a screamin deal and then got upgraded to an awesome suite! we decided now was a good time before baby came to have one last weekend away. we ate at stein erickson lodge courtesy of tim and julie mckeon (thanks guys).the hotel was absolutely amazing. the food at stein erickson was really yummy and it was just a really nice weekend! thanks husband for making all the plans. youre such a good planner :)

i think i have officially entered into the "i can't wait to get this baby out" phase. My feet are pretty much the fattest little things you've ever seen! I think its to the point now where elevation doesn't even help!

its really just weird

Im about 37 and 1/2 weeks now. technically the baby is full term now and could really come any day. im thinking shes just loving her life in there cause on tuesday the doctor said she hadn't even dropped into my pelvis and my body was not even a little bit getting ready to go into labor. So as long as my blood pressure stays under control I think i could actually make it to the end. lets just pray that it does cause i'd really like to not have a c section. but if i do oh well. So other than the swelling, the constant numb sensation in my hands, the oh so uncomfortable nights, constant braxton hicks, snoring, shortness of breath, high blood pressure, one pair of pants that fit, no shoes that fit, not being able to get up once i sit, no bending over to pick up what i've just dropped, I think i'm feeling pretty good!

The nursery is finally done! yay! We're still waiting for our rocking chair but other than that done, and done! Its been really fun seeing it all come together and making things here and there. Oh wait I forgot I still have to make the curtains and the crib quilt but after that done and done!

im 30!

this last weekend i turned 30!! drew was really sweet and organized a birthday bbq bash for me. we had all our family friends and neighbors there! he did such a good job getting organized. he sent out the evite all by himself and organized all the food. he even had a few surprises in store for me. the best surprise was that he flew sunny out for the weekend without me knowing! on saturday i was just hangin out at home when she comes walking through the door. i was so happy! i couldn't believe how thoughtful and sweet of him that was. it made my birthday extra fun. he also managed to borrow a hurse from the mortuary and make some lovely birthday signs for all the neighborhood to see. thanks husband for making my birthday so special you are the best!!!
